The founders of the Log Drive Café (Maura & Ranald) return (with friends) to finish off the season with an eclectic mix of folk songs. There will not be a theme for this show, but there will be many songs with choruses so you can sing along.

Maura Volante combines singing skills, a passion for traditional folk songs and an ability to make everyone in the room feel free to sing along. She has an extensive repertoire of folk songs from Canada, the British Isles and the United States.

Daphne Volante grew up singing folk music and took up the guitar as a teenager to accompany both singer/songwriter favourites and her original songs. In the past few years she has built an impressive repertoire of ballads and other traditional folk songs.

Ranald Thurgood grew up in a musical family with Maritime roots, and has a long history of both singing and studying folk song and storytelling traditions. He started playing mandolin a few years ago and will be adding some of that to the show.

Bob Hatfield, who appeared at the Log Drive Café last year for the Songs of Work show, is a wonderful singer originally from Yorkshire, who sings traditional material from that area of the world as well as fine North American songs.

The Log Drive Café is a traditional music venue, held on occasional Friday evenings, featuring local folk singers and musicians in a coffee-house setting, in which the audience is welcome to sing along.

Abbotsford House is a wheelchair accessible recreation centre focused on older adults; however, the Log Drive Café is an all-ages event.
